I cannot speak highly enough of Kims Fashion Design. Kim is, without question, the most talented and skillful tailor in all of Bostonlikely beyond. Her expertise is the reason why the highest-end designer brands trust her with their alterations. And after several experiences with her, including a near tailoring disaster turned triumph, I understand exactly why.

Kim has done several suits for me over the years, each time delivering flawless results. But most recently, she performed what I can only describe as a miracle. I don't get many things tailored because of the hassle and I get nervous but Kim's absolutely exceeding my expectations. I brought them in Monday and needed them by Thursday. She had them all ready to go by 1pm on Thursday! (3 pairs of pants). You can't even tell that they were touched! The waistline on my jeans is invisible - not one trace of stitching. I am so so impressed and now I'm thinking of getting all my jeans tailored there!

Kim works magic. Simple as that. She has altered two of my suits and two dress shirts [for my rehearsal dinner and wedding] and they all fit incredible. One suit I bought last year and I have since dropped about 25 lbs, she essentially reconstructed the entire jacket and it fits like a glove now, even fixing the mistake of the first tailor shortening the sleeves too much. I didn't know 'lengthening the sleeve' was possible. If you have something that you love and it doesn't fit, even if another tailor told you the alterations are 'impossible' - bring it to Kim.

I accidentally ripped two large holes in my favorite pair of pants right by the seam that goes down the middle. I was worried that I'd have to throw them away but Kim fixed them up perfectly! She managed to get rid of both holes and still make the pants look/feel brand new. She even reinforced the area around the seam in order to prevent future holes.

Kim is super nice and gives great service for a very affordable price. I'll definitely be going to her for all my future tailoring needs.

Friendly and fast service

With less than a week until I was leaving for a wedding in Europe I got my new suit back from a local suit company and the fit was atrocious. The pants were fine, but the jacket was twisted behind the shoulders and the tail of the jacket was so tight it lifted off my back. I was almost certain I would not get to wear my new suit to the wedding and would have to wear my old one. I took the suit to Kim and she worked a miracle! She had me in for four fittings in a matter of 5 days where she carefully made slight adjustments with the very little material left from the previous tailor. Kim and her team even stayed at the store until 8pm the night before my flight, so they could make some final touches, making it so I could look my best for the wedding!

I cannot compliment Kim and her staff enough. I bought a jumpsuit with cape from JJs House online and found both the pant legs/cape were too long and that the jumpsuit was somewhat wider around the torso than was preferable. I brought the outfit to Kim's on Monday of last week and within a week and a half they completed the whole job! I look wonderful in the outfit and I can't wait to wear it to my friend's wedding tomorrow.

I especially would like to shout out a Russian-speaking lady whose name I forget, with whom it was a pleasure to speak in my native language and who had the wonderful idea in the eleventh hour to take in the fabric around the sleeves, which was the perfect final touch.

I should, of course, have given them more time to make the many alterations that were necessary, but they rose to the occasion wonderfully. When Kim claims to be the best tailor in Boston, it is no idle boast! Worth every penny.

Kim and Sumincha (Kims helper) helped with shortening the front, adjusting the hip, waist, chest, and the lace sleeves and back. Lace takes skills and effort to fix but they really mastered it! Look how beautiful the dress turnt to be!

Bought a few items at Hugo Boss in Copley this week and was introduced to their custom tailor Kim. Her Fashion Design & Tailoring business is just up a few floors in the same building! It was such a pleasure going through her vs an in-house tailor. Her craft and workmanship showed and she even stayed after hours to get me ready for a trip by tailoring a few items that same day. Kim really went out of her way to make sure that the qipao I rented from her was perfect. When the first fitting wasn't close, she worked so hard to make sure that I could come back in a few hours to see if the new changes made were better - to fit the waist and hips perfectly, and make sure I could also sit down to eat (!) in it. In all I probably came in for five or six fittings and the dress came out perfect - I'd have definitely bought it if I thought I could wear a red qipao again.
Come in early, communicate your dates clearly and schedule in a few more fittings than you think you'll need and you'll have a great dress.

I needed an outfit for an Indian wedding but couldn't find anything online or in stores because I am six and a half months pregnant. I found Kim one week before the wedding and visited her store. Kim had a selection of Indian outfits although none would go over my bump. Not to worry because Kim custom re-worked the outfit to bring it out and make the top and skirt into a dress! Kim basically made me a completely custom dress to flatter my body in three days. I received so many compliments at the wedding and felt more beautiful than on any other day of my pregnancy! I want to thank Kim and her team for making me feel so special. On top of that, her prices were very reasonable. You really couldn't find another designer/tailor like Kim.

Kim is the best!!! I have been going to her for over 6 years for alterations on my formal dresses. She always does a great job and works very fast to finish the product for the event. Twice I dropped off a dress 1-2 days prior to an event and she has never said no and worked to finish the dress. She has a great eye and a few times suggested a different neckline for my dress and makes the dress look better than it did from the start. Personally, she is very warm and welcoming.
